PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new peptide sequence forming a fine fiber having a nanometer scale of several to several ten nanometer as a width and several hundred nanometer as a length, specification of nanofiber-forming condition of a substance forming the sequence and a method for controlling the shape of a nanofiber composed of the peptide. SOLUTION: A nanofiber is formed by self-organizing a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence under specific conditions in water solvent kept at normal temperature and normal pressure by using only natural amino acid. Various shapes such as linear, curved, tape-like and sheet-like shapes are formed by controlling kinds and forming conditions of amino acid sequences. Heat resistance and active life of an enzyme are improved by binding the enzyme to the nanofiber to stably functionalize the enzyme. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
