PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid photoprotective composition, and to provide a use of the same. SOLUTION: This solid photoprotective composition contains (a) at least one fatty phase, (b) at least one organic UV-screening agent, (c) at least some metal oxide-based mineral nano-pigments, and (d) at least one octenylsuccinic anhydride-esterified starch salt in a physiologically acceptable medium. The use of at least one of the octenylsuccinic anhydride-esterified starch salt in the solid photoprotective composition which contains the at least one fatty phase, at least the one organic UV-screening agent, and at least the some metal oxide-based mineral nano-pigments for the purpose of increasing a sun-protective factor is provided.
