<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway vehicle in which further safety is secured for passengers and crew members in getting on and off it. <P>SOLUTION: A doorsill 10 provided on a railway vehicle has a step part 11 comprising a flat plate that is roughly horizontal to function to be stepped. In a light holder part 12 provided at an outer end of the step part 11, a light part 14 is contained, so that existence of a gap or step between an edge end of a platform and the vehicle 1 is warned on the vehicle side by lighting or flashing of the light part 14. Existence of a doorway 4 in the vehicle is also clearly shown to physically disabled people or aged people. Especially this is effective in a case where the position of the doorway 4 is not clearly shown on the platform. Employment of the doorsill 10 is extremely effective in a facility to enable passengers to smoothly get on and off.
