<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preliminarily treating molten pig iron, which desulfurizes it without removing slag used in desiliconization and manganese-enriching treatment for the molten pig iron and without using fluorite. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The method for preliminarily treating the molten pig iron without using fluorite comprises adding manganese-containing mineral and lime to desiliconize the molten pig iron and enrich Mn while stirring the molten pig iron in a treatment vessel; then, adding a fixation agent to solidify the slag; subsequently adding a desulfurizing agent without intermediately removing slag; and sequentially desulfurizing the molten pig iron. (2) It is preferable to use a cupola pot for the treatment vessel, and mechanically stir the molten pig iron with the use of stirring blades. (3) It is preferable to add the additives for desiliconization and Mn-enriching treatment for the molten pig iron so that slag basicity after treatment can be 1.2 or lower, and to add the slag fixation agent so that slag basicity can be 1.2 or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
