PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and an image processing program which realize noise reduction processing optimized for a photographic condition and are superior in preservability of original signals to generate images of high quality. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises; a parameter calculation part 102 which calculates a parameter for estimating a noise quantity included in an image signal, on the basis of the image signal; an edge determination part 103 which determines whether a noticed pixel in the image signal is an edge or not; a parameter correction part 104 which corrects the parameter on the basis of an edge determination result; a noise quantity estimation part 105 which is provided with a noise quantity estimation model for estimating the noise quantity, correspondingly to a condition at the time of acquisition of the image signal and uses this noise quantity estimation model to estimate a noise quantity corresponding to the corrected parameter; and a noise reduction processing part 106 which reduces noise in the image signal on the basis of the estimated noise quantity.
