PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply the invention to a liquid crystal display device which, for example, has each pixel composed of multiple subpixels and represent gradations by driving multiple subpixels and to realize higher gradations and higher resolution of a multi-bit memory type display device by simplifying the layout of pixel circuits and electrodes constituting subpixels and easily realizing multi-bit constitution. SOLUTION: In an area wherein circuits 44A to 44E of respective subpixels are arranged, a memory circuit and a switch circuit are arranged at both end sides, an area AR for electrode connection is formed in the center of the area, and those circuits 44A to 44E and electrodes are connected in the area AR for electrode connection.
