PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal correction unit capable of performing correction processing, depending on the frequency characteristics at respective positions within a video image. SOLUTION: Since an imaging circuit 12 for picking up the image of an object h via a photographing lens 11 for generating a video signal S12, a signal-generating circuit 15 for generating the contour correction signal S15 of the video signal S12 generated by the imaging circuit 12, depending on the frequency characteristics of the photographing lens 11 at respective positions in a video image and correcting the video signal S12 generated by the imaging circuit 12, based on the contour correction signal S15; and since an addition circuit 17 are provided, correction processing can be carried out, depending on the frequency characteristics at respective positions in the video image.
