PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover body opening/closing device capable of obtaining fireproof, flameproof and deodorizing effects from downstairs to upstairs in a state of closing an opening with a cover body. SOLUTION: This device with support frame members 3 provided at a floor plate 30 of a building additionally along the four-side edge parts of the opening 1 so that the upper faces 3 support the cover body 2 closing the opening 1, is provided with a vertical pair of gears 5, 6 meshed with each other having rotary shafts 5a, 6a respectively; a connecting arm 7 pivoted to the back face of the cover body 2 at a first part 7a; a first rotating arm 8 pivoted to a second part 7b of the connecting arm 7 at a first part 8a and stuck to the upper gear 5 at a second part 8b; and a second rotating arm 9 stuck to the lower gear 6 at a first part 9a and having a counterweight 10 stuck to a second part 9b.
