PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a position-detecting device for detecting the position of a moving object which is moved by a drive system having a rotor. SOLUTION: The device is provided with magnets 53, having a north pole(N) and a south pole(S) on their surfaces perpendicular to the rotating shaft of a gear 22, and a sensor chip 8 which is provided facing the magnets 53 and detects changes in the direction of a magnetic field occurring, when the magnets 53 rotate along with the gear 22 by the use of magnetoresistance elements, and detects the position of a lens-barrel 4 by the output of the sensor chip 8.
