PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the depth size of a disk apparatus itself by devising the carrying direction of a disk so as to reduce linear stroke in the case of loading and unloading the disk. SOLUTION: This disk carrier device is provided in a disk apparatus M for carrying the disk 3 between a first position outside of the disk apparatus and a second position inside of the disk apparatus. The disk carrier device is provided with a revolving mechanism for revolving the disk 3 by substantially 90°within a surface substantially parallel to the recording medium of the disk regarding at least a part of a carrier path between the first position and the second position.
