PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method comprising steps simpler than those in conventional ones, whereby high-purity hexaamine ruthenium (III) trichloride can be prepared. SOLUTION: The preparation method of hexaamine ruthenium (III) trichloride comprises a step wherein ammonium chloride is added to hexaamine ruthenium (II) dichloride and oxygen- or ozone-containing gas is blown. Oxygen blowing is performed while oxidation-reduction potential of a solution is being measured, preferably until the oxidation-reduction potential of a solution reaches from -100 to 0 mV (vs. Ag/AgCl). Hexaamine ruthenium (III) trichloride can be efficiently obtained by adding ammonium chloride to the solution after the reaction and cooling the solution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
