IL-8 PRODUCTION PROMOTERS AND USE THEREOF

It is intended to provide IL-8 production promoters originating in highly safe food materials, and immunopotentiators or preventives/remedies for infections containing the same. It is found out that a composition containing, as the active ingredient, an extract of at least one plant selected from among peppermint, Houttuynia cordata and licorice promotes the production of IL-8 and a composition containing, as the active ingredient, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of alpha-humulene, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene and L-menthol promotes the production of IL-8. These IL-8 production promoters are usable in foods and drinks containing immunopotentiators or preventives/remedies for infections.
