<p>Adhesive(3) is applied between the faces of components(1,2) to be bonded together. The components are then pressed(F) together while an alternating force is applied in at least one direction(sf,sh) onto the components. Adhesive(3) is applied in the form of a bead and has a triangular cross-section. A mechanism is positively connected to at least one of the components(1,2) for applying force to the latter. One method of applying force is by vibration while pressing components together. Vibration frequency is not less than50Hz, preferably 50-200Hz.. Vibration occurs between set pressure limits, the lower limit always being above zero. Relative movement between components is limited to set amplitudes while pressing together. Pressure application is for not >10 seconds. Components may be moved in a rotational and/or straight path. When moves in a straight line movement can be either predominantly or exclusively perpendicular to the direction in which components are pressed together.</p> |
