An adjustable membrane clutch drive, e.g. for non synchronised transmission, has the operating sleeve (20) of an output brake (38) threaded into a thrust ring (24) pressed onto the throw out bearing of the membrane spring (12). The threaded setting is locked by a clamping ring secured by a threaded fastener, e.g. hexagonal screw, which is accessed from outside the clutch using a long shafted hexagonal driver (62), i.e. without having to dismantle the clutch.
