<p>The invention relates to a self-propelled and self-steering floor treating device (10) with a chassis (12), an electrical drive unit with driven wheels (16, 17) mounted on the chassis, and a sensor element (43) that is mounted so that it can be rotated about a vertical rotational axis (70) relative to the chassis (12) and displaced in parallel to a main direction of movement (38) of the floor treating device. A sensor unit (24, 25) detects a relative movement of the sensor element (43) and initiates a change of direction of travel. In order to improve the floor treating device (10) in such a manner that the sensor element can be reliably returned to a defined starting position after a change of direction of travel, the sensor element (43), in the case of a rotational movement, is impinged upon with an elastic return force exerted by at least one spring element (45, 46), said force acting at a distance to the rotational axis and being directed perpendicularly to the rotational axis.</p> |
