The bypass valve of a hydraulic oscillation damper includes an operating slide (4) formed as a hollow component which is axially movable by a stationary, at least partially hollow guide component (6). The guide component is axially and radially fixed, and the operating slide is larger in construction than the guide component so that the guide component forms a guiding neck upon which the operating slide is guided when moving axially. The operating slide and guide component are constructed as hollow cylinders.
