The transmission unit of an internal combustion engine has a bearing assembly for the connection of the piston (3) to the connecting rod small end (2) and which to form a positive engagement is constructed as a ball/calotte bearing in such a way that on one side a calotte component (11) with a spherically formed outer face (12) is provided as the bearing surface which is impregnated with a lubricant, and on the other side is a correspondingly spherically formed cup-shaped bearing support (13). - The ball-calotte bearing for the maintaining of the positive engagement has a releasable anti-rotation lock (16a,16b,23a) which in addition allows in the unlocked state a release of the positive engagement by rotation of the piston around its axis. |
