In a method for conducting heat between a solid such as metal and a fluid such as water and air, the solid surface in contact with the fluid is treated by a paste consisting of particles of copper oxide CuO, carbon C, or alumina Al2O 3 having a diameter of 100 nm or below and acid or alkali, thereby forming a porous layer on the solid surface having a plenty of nano-size pores. This provides a bland new method exhibiting a significantly high efficiency at low cost for the convective heat transfer in the heat conduction phenomenon.
