The fitness belt is fitted with at least one flat circular housing comprising a base, cover and axle, containing a spiral steel spring with a strap wound round it. The strap can be of an elastic or non-elastic material, and the gap between the housing base and cover is sufficient to avoid friction with the spring and strap. One end of the strap projects from the housing and can be attached to part of the body or to a fixed external structure such as a wall or hook to create an adjustable effort that provides exercise for the muscles.
