A temporary closure for a bathtub overflow port (30) is easily on the overflow port (30) for testing purposes. The temporary closure (52, 52A, 72) for the bathtub overflow port (30) comprises placing a solid cap (52, 52A, 72) on the outer end of a drain pipe (32) extending through the overflow port (30). The cap (52) is threaded on the outer end of the drain pipe (32), with or without a sealing element (66) on its inner surface (56). In one embodiment, the cap (52A) is provided with an outer face (54) having an aperture (68) therein covered by a sealing membrane (70). In another embodiment, the rap (72) is a solid plug (74) and is screwed into a threaded interior of the outer end of the drain pipe (32). |
