<p>An apparatus (820, 920, 1004) for helping improve operation of a heart valve (826, 926, 1008) includes a generally arcuate base (844, 944) and a buttress (838, 938, 1018) extending generally from at least a portion of the base. The apparatus (820, 920, 1004) can be deformable to facilitate its implantation. When the apparatus (820, 920, 1004) is when implanted at an annulus (824, 924, 1006) of a heart valve, the buttress (838, 938, 1018) thereof cooperates with one or more leaflets (832, 932, 1014) of the heart valve to help control blood flow relative to the apparatus and heart valve.</p> |
