The fuel cell has basic cells, where each basic cell has bipolar plates and an ion exchange membrane surrounded by an anode, a cathode, two joints and two current collectors. A periphery cooling channel (8) is provided along lateral sides of the basic cells and a central cooling channel (7) crosses perpendicularly the basic cells to cool central zone of the basic cells. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of cooling a stacking of basic cells of a fuel cell (b) a vehicle having a fuel cell.
