The part has a diaphyseal part (2), and a head (4) with a neck to receive patella which is mounted in a prosthetic acetabulum of a hip prosthesis. Slots (10) are formed on a lower part of the sides of a metaphyseal part (3). The slots are perpendicular to a neutral axis (9), where each slot defines two ribs. The slots are made such that the ribs oppose depression of the prosthesis in femur. The slots rub wall of the femur. An independent claim is also included for a hip prosthesis comprising a femoral part.
