PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for allocating images while taking arrangement of pages into consideration. SOLUTION: When layout processing wherein a plurality of object images are allocated in a mount area of one page is performed by using template data representing a template including the mount area of one page and one or more unit image allocation area arranged in the mount area, the total number of pages used for the layout processing is determined so as to meet a specified total-page-number condition and the numbers of images allocated to the respective pages are determined.
