PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type mower with which traveling wheels are suitably decelerated and driven without causing a bad condition by adhesion and deposition of reaped weeds. SOLUTION: In this walking type mower with which the traveling wheels 4 are mounted on the circumferential part of a mowing part 3 equipped with reaping blades 2 to be rotated and driven in a reaping blade housing 1 and a motive power part 5 for driving the reaping blades 2 and the traveling wheels 4 is loaded on the upper part of the mowing part 3, a recessed space 62 opened toward the inside of a machine body is formed in the inside of the traveling wheels 4, a deceleration mechanism 61 for decelerating and driving the traveling wheels 4 is housed in the recessed space 62 and the opening of the recessed space 62 is closed by a member that supports the deceleration mechanism 61 and is fixed to the machine body side.
