The process involves finding a correction value and storing a position measurement error contained in position measuring signals. The correction value is taken into account for error compensating at the time of determination of the switching time for each phase of winding of an electronically commutated motor (1). An armature (3) is moved with respect to a stator when the winding is without current during a measurement cycle. An independent claim is also included for an electronically commutated motor including a stator.
