The hearing aid has a direction detection device, e.g. an adaptive directional microphone (RM), for detecting the direction of the source (Q) of the received sound waves, a sound classification device (GK), which assigns the received sound waves to different signal classes and a signal processing device (VE), for processing the received sound waves dependent on the detected direction and the signal classification. An independent claim for an operating method for a hearing aid is also included.
