<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize more real remote interaction with presence without making the whole system complicated. <P>SOLUTION: An object to be imaged is imaged by at least three cameras at mutually different angles, and correction processing is carried out by setting normal directions of the images picked up by the respective cameras to a normal direction of a virtually set plane; and pixel positions of the images having been corrected are made to correspond to one another while related to the imaged object to generate relative position information showing relative position relations of the imaged object to the cameras, and an arrangement of pixel positions constituting a virtual viewpoint image to newly be generated and their luminance components are found from the arrangement of pixel positions made to correspond to one another and their luminance components according to the generated relative position information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
