<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification mark generating method for generating an identification mark with which his/her own object can be visually and easily identified by the person himself/herself by a list, but is hardly identified by others, and a program therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A management computer 21 receives specification of an identifier constituted of symbols recorded in a symbol data storage part 22 and specification of an identifier display position in a predetermined symbol display range from a user terminal 31 and arranges the identifier at the identifier display position in the symbol display range. Then, the computer extracts symbols belonging to the same category as the symbols constituting the identifier from the symbol data storage part 22 and arranges the extracted symbols to parts except the specified display position in the symbol display range. Then, the computer outputs data to print the identification mark including the identifier.
