<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for a translucent liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the color filter at a low cost in which the surface of the color filter is flat and the positional accuracy of the transparent part of a colored layer and the colored layer part is improved, and also, the deterioration of gap accuracy between substrates is prevented even when a post spacer is arranged above the transparent part. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the color filter constituted of the colored layer as a light transmission area and a colored layer having a transparent part as a light reflection area, the transparent part 27 is formed by etching the surface of a glass substrate, and the method comprises a process of forming the transparent part by etching the surface of the glass substrate 21, and a process of forming a black matrix 12, a colored layer 23, a transparent conductive film 14 and a process of forming the post spacer 18 on the transparent conductive film on the transparent part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
