<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with a problem that target equipment is damaged by voltage applied to the signal lines of a six-pin connector, by inputting the signal lines to a voltage detection circuit, and, if the voltage that can be guaranteed by the signal lines is exceeded, detecting that and outputting a warning sound. <P>SOLUTION: Connector A has n (n = natural number) signal lines, a power line, and ground, and carries out arbitrary conversion. Connector B has m (m = natural number) signal lines and ground. A communication cable connects the connector A and the connector B. A voltage detection circuit C and a warning circuit D are provided. The voltage detection circuit includes a circuit that, if the connector A of the communication cable is reversely plugged into equipment AA, detects that voltage applied to an arbitrary signal line has exceeded a certain voltage a, and, if the certain voltage a is not exceeded, interrupts connection with the n lines.
