PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for measuring the quantity of dropped liquid, capable of constituting the apparatus at a low price and precisely measuring the liquid quantity of droplets dropped from a nozzle, at low cost. SOLUTION: A light sensor 3 is provided with both a light source 31 and a light-receiving part 32 for receiving beam light B emitted from the light source 31, and the light sensor 3 is provided for a location, at which the droplets L discharged from the nozzle 11 interrupt the beam light B. An interrupting time, during which the beam light B is interrupted, is measured by a measuring part 4, and the liquid quantity of the droplets is computed by an operation part 5, on the basis of the result of measurement of the interrupting time.
