PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for document processing that eliminate trouble and unnecessary charging when a one-surface print section and a both-surface print section of a paper document to be copied are reproduced as they are even when the original document includes one-surface printed matter and both-surface printed matter. SOLUTION: It is decided whether the reverse surface of paper is blank (S2103); when it is decided that the reverse surface is blank, image data on the top surface of the paper are documented together with one-surface print property (S2107), but when not, image data on both the surfaces of the paper are documented together with both-surface print property (S211). The image data are printed by bringing a device under one-surface/both-surface print control according to the one-surface print/both-surface print property documented together with the image data.
