CONNECTOR COUPLING AUXILIARY MEMBER AND OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector coupling auxiliary member capable of fitting a connector plug freely attachably and detachably into an adaptor of another type, and to provide an optical connector. SOLUTION: The connector plug 2 comprises a ferrule 3 holding an optical fiber 5, a mechanical splice 4 which mechanically connects the optical fiber 5 with an optical fiber 12 and a main connector housing 16 which houses the ferrule 3 and the mechanical splice 4. A latch part 26 for latching the connector plug 2 for a regular adaptor is disposed on the upper surface part of the main connector housing 16. The connector coupling auxiliary member 41 has a housing 42 which houses the connector plug 2 and fits the connector plug 2 freely attachably and detachably into the another type adaptor having a structure different from that of the regular adaptor and window parts 44 which expose a groove part 21 for restraining and receiving the connector plug 2 are disposed on both side surfaces of the housing 42.
