PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and effective prophylaxis and therapy of periodontal disease. SOLUTION: The prophylactic agent for periodontal disease is composed of a dentifrice containing a powder of granite porphyry. The particle size of the powder of granite porphyry is preferably set at about 100-400 meshes, and the content of the powder of granite porphyry in the dentifrice is preferably set at 5-100%.
