METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING DEGREE OF WEAR OF CONVEYOR BELT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of measuring the degree of wear of a conveyor belt to catch the indication of an accident according to the advancement of wear of the conveyor belt on the upper surface thereof. SOLUTION: A magnetic field from a rubber magnet installed at a required portion of the conveyor belt and partly exposed to the surface of the conveyor belt is detected by a magnetic sensor fixed to the earth, and the degree of wear of the conveyor belt based on the magnitude of the detected magnetic field by utilizing such a fact that the magnetic field is varied by a reduction in volume of the rubber magnet according to the advancement of wear of the conveyor belt at the required portion.
