PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head up display device capable of realizing display easily viewable while suppressing a current consumption and heat generation of a light source. SOLUTION: In the head up display device, a combiner capable of looking at with less change of driver's visual line is provided, LCD 61 and LED 31 are provided so as to project an image to the combiner by flooding a light from the light source to a display part and a light source lighting control part 1 for controlling emission of light of the LED 31 is provided. An external light sensor 51 detecting brightness of the external light using an external light sensor 51 is provided and a flashing control part 11 for flash-controlling the LED 31 corresponding to the external light is provided on a light source lighting control part 1.
