OPTIMIZATION OF ABLATION CORRECTION OF OPTICAL SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method to correct calculated parameters for achieving optimum ablation (removal) correction.

SOLUTION: This system for optimizing a prescription for laser-ablation corneal treatment is provided with: a processor 12; a means 11 to transmit a wavefront description of a patient's eye to the processor 12; an input device 48 adapted to receive a desired correction to the wavefront description data by a user and capable of single-communication with the processor; and software 13 resident on the processor having code segments for calculating correction to wavefront description data to create corrected wave front side description data data based on the desired correction and for displaying the wavefront description and the corrected wavefront description data on a display.
