<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a junction-type optical element which has light resistance without problems in practical terms to a purple-blue laser beam and can easily be manufactured at low cost, a junction prism for an optical pickup, and an optical pickup device mounted with the same. <P>SOLUTION: A polarization beam splitter BS consists of a cemented prism comprising 1st and 2nd prism elements P1, P2, one of which has an optical branching function, and resin layers V for cementing them together. The resin layer V consists of an ultraviolet-curing adhesive, and has an optical absorption coefficient of 4% or lower per 30μm thickness, in the wavelength range of 395 to 415nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
