PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein the palm of the hand is required to be fully opened for holding a casing of a portable optical disk drive by the hand, resulting in deep fatigue of the hand when holding the casing over a long period of time. SOLUTION: A drive, including a chassis 64, an optical head 66, or the like, is attached to a plane of the casing 1 grasped by the hand (inner wall of size indicated by H=D2), in such a manner that the drive tilts by quantity indicated byθin Figure; consequently, the height H of the casing can be reduced enabling the casing to be firmly held by bending the fingers, therefore the a portable optical disk drive can be used over a long period of time.
