PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine that prevents the flexure of a rack shaft while reducing a load on the rack shaft by a small regulation member and accurately relatively moves a sewing needle and a processed cloth. SOLUTION: The sewing machine has a Y rack shaft 22 to which a driving force is transmitted through a pinion fixed to the output shaft of a Y direction driving motor, and a regulation member 23 butting against the Y rack shaft 22 on the side opposite to the pinion with respect to the Y rack shaft 22 in the vicinity of the pinion. The regulation member 23 is composed of a fixed shaft 60, and a needle bearing 61. The fixed shaft 60 is made up of a body shaft portion 62 mounted to the Y direction driving motor and an eccentric shaft portion 63, and can adjust the position of the needle bearing 61 by making the body shaft portion 62 rotate. The needle bearing 61 has an inner wheel member 64 and an outer wheel member 66 turnably supported on the inner wheel member 64 through the needle 65 butting against the Y rack shaft 22.
