PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability regarding a vacuum cleaner equipped with an optical transmission means. SOLUTION: An electric signal applied by a control circuit 11 is transmitted to an input circuit 6 with light by an optical fiber 15. The light which is received by the input circuit 6 is converted into electricity by a received light converting section 21, and is fed to the input circuit 6. A hand controller 5 or the like does not need to be provided with a battery for feeding electricity to the input circuit 6, so that the hand controller 5 can be made light in weight for an improvement in operability.
