A fungicidal two- or three-component composition based on metalaxyl, wherein more than 70 % by weight of the metalaxyl is the R-enantiomer (I) and composition comprises as the further component (IIA) mancozeb, (IIB) chlorothalonil, (IIC) a copper salt or copper hydroxide, (IID) folpet, (IIE) fluazinam or (IIF) cymoxanil. In the case of using component (IIF) can be present: a third component one of the components mentioned for (IIA) to (IIE). The ratio by weight of (I): (II) is from 10 : 1 to 1 : 1000.
