Strap widening element for assembly straps (10) for securing and wiring electric units, e.g. in switchgear cubicles, comprises first integrally formed holder (20,35) for strip-shaped assembly strap edge sections (13,14), or strip-shaped section of further strap widening element.There is second integrally formed holder (21) for wiring comb (39) or further strap widening element. Preferably strap widening element is of extruded plastics material, cut to any arbitrary length.
