The inventive device is embodied in the form of a rough plane for setting a pseudo-randomly moving top spinning and makes it possible to complete a range of articles such as accessories for games like a dice, raffle and lottery wheels, etc. An associated (1') or dissociated (1'') rough plane (1) confined by a shaped edge (4 or 4') which is independent of or connected to the plane and the indexed top (9) thereof make it possible to obtain three random effects in order to use said effects for a random choice of the area (10) of the plane which is illustrated with figures, letters, colours, signs and drawings. Said plane consists of a surface which is illustrated in the areas (10), rendered rough and irregular by roughness and is confined by the shaped edge (4 or 4') which follows the periphery of the plane surface and of a shaped top (9) provided with an indexing (17). The ratio of the mass (density), dimensions and the shape of the top (9) is intimately associated with the selection of the roughness (2) in such a way that it interacts with the plane (and the edge) and moves in a chaotic motion without leaving said plane prior to finishing the travel thereof on one of illustrated areas and indicating the sign or drawing by the indexing thereof.
