<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently expel heat generated as a result of high speed agitation of developer, without providing an additional space in a developing device and from the areas where the heat generation takes place. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing device, a cooling mechanism 412 includes two rotary shafts 409 for a pair of conveying screws 405, a fluid guiding member 413, a forcible fluid circulator 414 and a heat exchanger 415. Each of the rotary shafts 409 has a hollow fluid passage with openings at both its ends. The fluid guiding member 413 is a member formed so as be hollow as in a tube and connects the openings of the ends of the rotary shafts 409. The fluid passages of the rotary shafts 409 and the fluid guiding member 413 compose a fluid circulation path for cooling the pair of conveying screws 405, which is shielded from a space in which the developer is stored. The forcible fluid circulator 414 and the heat exchanger 415 are disposed on one of the sides of the fluid guiding member 413 connecting the openings of the ends of the rotary shafts 409 to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
