<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional coding system for carrying out wavelet transform by each Tile such as the JPEG 2000 coding system that a surface of discontinuity is apt to be visually recognized on a Tile division border surface. <P>SOLUTION: One-dimensional lifting computing elements 106, 107 wherein processing applied to odd number pixels and processing applied to even number pixels are replaced with each other are prepared, and the computing elements are used switchingly by each pixel line. Thus, incidence sequences of high and low frequency components obtained by the lifting arithmetic operations are inverted by each line so as to prevent continuity of the same frequency component causing the surface of discontinuity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
