PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle sensing structure for an opening/closing device, which prevents erroneous sensing thereof due to adhesion of foreign matter to a portion that emits, catches, or reflects an obstacle sensing medium, to thereby ensure the sensing accuracy thereof over a long period of time. SOLUTION: An opening/closing body 10 of the opening/closing device has a non-contact sensing means 50 and a sensing section protective means arranged at a closing-side edge thereof. The non-contact sensing means 50 has an emitting section 52 and a catching section 53 so as to protrude from the closing-side edge of the opening/closing body 10. The emitting section 52 emits the obstacle sensing medium in a direction that extends almost along the width of the opening/closing body, and the catching section 53 senses the obstacle entering a path of the obstacle sensing medium. The sensing section protective means is formed so as to inhibit foreign matter from adhering to the portion of the non-contact sensing means 50, that emits, catches, or reflects the obstacle sensing medium.
