<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the light-emitting diode of a structure including a light-emitting element and a reflecting surface disposed opposite, which is free from drop in reflectance due to the wrinkling on the reflecting surface or the peeling of a reflecting film, when a resin filled in an aperture between the light emitting element and the reflecting surface is hardened during a manufacturing process, has a long service life, is highly durable and highly efficient in light utilization. <P>SOLUTION: A lead frame, having the light-emitting element mounted in the concave space of a concave-surfaced reflector constituted of a heat-resistant resin, such as polyether ether ketone resin, is provided with the light-emitting element opposed to the reflecting surface, and the aperture between the light-emitting element and the concave-surfaced reflector is filled with a cationic polymerization type transparent epoxy resin as a transparent epoxy resin to prevent the deterioration of reflection properties of a metallic reflecting layer formed on the surface of the concave-surfaced reflector. This fully protects the reflecting surface against external mechanical shocks and thermal impacts by the heat-resistant resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
