PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output unit capable of supplementing/replacing consumables efficiently while enhancing maintainability and system reliability.

SOLUTION: The image output unit 101 can open/close the upper part of a media reader and can mount/demount the media reader individually (image data read/write means 111). The image output unit comprises a plurality of power supplies which are used in combination, switched, recovered or stopped depending on the situation (power supply 119). Furthermore, the image output unit predicts next replacing/supplementing day from the output situation and informs/displays information about replacement/supplement forcibly (informing means 117, replacement/supplement data base 118).
